I’ve relocated our 3D printer to home now and set it up printing components, nonstop, for face masks that can be supplied to the NHS. The excellent organisation that is coordinating the effort is 3D Crowd UK. They’ve now got close to 5000 individuals and companies signed up to help, so if each one prints just 16 masks this weekend the NHS will have 80,000 masks next week. I think they’ll easily double that number.
I hope you’re all staying safe and looking after one another.
Take care, stay home and let’s enjoy a cup of tea together when this is all over!

Crazy About Porsche /
It’s lovely to be in another book and this week’s weighty coffee table number is devoted to fans of Porsches (and, so by extension, good design).
Whilst artists work from the real to the abstract, architects must work from the abstract to the real. Architecture, beneath all its limitations of engineering, safety, function, climate and economy, arouse us with designs in space and light achieved in the abstract.
Pendant Lights /
We’re currently enjoying developing a series of 3D printed pendant lights. More to follow in time.
57'10 Podcast /
57’10’s podcast is out featuring the interview that they recorded with me back in November last year. We chatted about all sorts of things, ranging from my experience of working at Heatherwick Studio, what grand tour I would recommend for students on their summer holidays, and the role computer generated images play in my work. It was lovely chatting so hopefully it makes enjoyable listening!
There are some other interesting podcasts in their series so be sure to explore their back catalogue.
Container Atlas /
Gestalten has just released a new book featuring our Joshua Tree Residence on the front cover. You can find out more here.

I love it!
Up there with the comment that I saw where they felt that the Joshua Tree Residence would make them more likely to be abducted by aliens.
Lecture at 57'10 /
It was lovely to meet the students and tutors up in Aberdeen last week. Thanks so much for the invite to come and speak, it was a hoot!
